Sheringham Point Lighthouse Preservation Society
Current and Ongoing Projects
To support our goals of protecting the Sheringham Point Lighthouse and other significant foreshore properties in Shirley, the Society often develops specific projects that may be of a short-term or an ongoing basis. Following are our current projects:
ORAL HISTORY PROJECT
An important part of the work of the Sheringham Point Lighthouse Preservation Society is to document and preserve the history of the Lighthouse and its influence on our community. This includes collecting oral histories from people who have been associated with the site over the years. For more details, please click here.
FLEA BEACH CONSERVATION PROJECT
In 2013, the Sheringham Point Lighthouse Preservation Society received permission from the Ministry of Transportation to operate and maintain the right of way in Shirley, called Flea Beach. To learn more about this project, please click here.
